Where do toys for all the children in world come from? According to the legend, it’s within the walls of the bygone linen factory where the elves’ workshop lies and children’s (but not only!) wishes comes true. Santa Claus’ Factory is a yearly, two-day celebration of handicrafts and tradition, which transforms the industrial interiors of the Linen Museum into the most atmospheric place in the region. During this special weekend, museum exhibitions take the back seat to almost a hundred booth owners from all over Poland. Raw, post-factory halls are lit up with festoon lightning and decorated with hand-made decorations, creating a one of a kind scenery for meetings before Christmas.
A Space full of inspiration
The event was organised in a way that allows everyone to find something for themselves, by splitting the space into four distinct zones:
- the fair zone | a true paradise for folks searching for that perfect gift. Local creators and artists show off exquisite pottery, crochet creations, self-made jewellery, hand-casted candles, wooden toys and fragrant garlands, Christmas decorations and many other fantastic creations;
- the workshop zone | a space for creative activities for the whole family. You will create your own decorations while watched over by kind elves, write a letter to Santa and create beautiful Christmas-themed postcards
- the food zone | a place full of aromas where Christmas snacks and regional delicacies reign supreme, perfect for warming up on a cold winter day.
- the photo zone | a perfectly arranged magical space making it possible to capture the visit to the museum on a special, Christmas background It’s the ideal spot for a memorial family photo in a unique, industrial-Christmas atmosphere.
Lots of Christmas Fun
The itinerary of the Santa Claus’ Factory is filled to the brim with activities that make the museum interiors come alive. Waiting for its guests are:
- meetings with Santa Claus and an opportunity to send a letter with the Polar Post joint Christmas
- karaoke with the elves
- charity drive „Drzewko Szczęścia” which supports kids from single-parent households and foster homes on the territory of Powiat Żyrardowski
- a Christmas pen with camels, alpacas, donkeys, a reindeer, sheep and goats.
The main idea of the Christmas fair is to combine the unique, post-industrial identity of Żyrardów with the warmth of a family Christmas. It’s the perfect opportunity to take a break from the Christmas chaos, support local artisans and spend time in an atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else.
