Bielnik after hours

Bielnik after hours

Once upon a time the sound of a whistle meant the end of shift and a welcome moment of respite. Today, those same walls bear witness to the joyful Bielnik after hours is an event that waves goodbye to summer, in the rhythm of life in the former factory settlement.

On Saturday after payoff, or intergenerational dance party hits the planks…

We meet under the slogan „W sobotę po wypłacie” [eng. “On Saturday after payoff”]. It’s a direct reference to traditional weekly payments that workers received for their labour. After payoff it was time for social integration, dancing, music and loud feasting. The event takes place outdoors, on the museum patio. The word Bielnik, refers to the part of the factory where linen fabrics used to be whitened and finished up. Today this industrial space is filled with energy, light and flavour! We prepare activities that connect generations and let you feel the spirit of the XIX-century Żyrardów including but not limited to: an intergenerational dance party under the stars, flavours of the XIX- century factory, meaning a live cooking show combined with tasting of dishes inspired by the cuisine of female spool tenders and weavers, multimedia laser show, chill out zone – lounging in lawn chairs and in unique, factory-like seating in the shadow of the historic architecture or board games zone for both young and old.
